Driving License Services
How do i convert a foreign driving license to a UK license?
If you hold a driving license from a ‘designated country’ (e.g EU/EEA, USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, and others), you may exchange it for a UK license without retaking your test. The process requires:
- Completed D1 application form
- Your original foreign license
- Proof of UK residency (utility bill or bank statement dated within 3 months).
- Passportt-sized photo
- Payment of the fee.
If your country is not on the designated list, you will need to pass the UK theory and practical driving tests. We handle the entire exchange process on your behalf. Processing typically takes 3-5 working days.
Can i drive while my license application is being processed?
If you are renewing an existing UK licence that has not yet expired, you may continue driving using your current licence while your renewal is processed. If your licence has expired, you must not drive until your new licence is received, as driving with an expired licence is a criminal offence in the UK. If you are converting a foreign licence, you may drive using your foreign licence (along with any required international Driving Permit) until your licence arrives, provided your foreign licence remains valid. We advise clients to check their specific circumstances with us directly.

If your licence was stolen, a police report and crime reference number are recommended but not always mandatory. We process replacement licenses within 5-7 working days. National ID Card & Residence Permits
Who is eligible for a UK National ID Card?
UK national Identity Cards are available to British citizens and certain categories of UK residents. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals who have been granted settled or pre-settled Status under the EU Settlement Scheme are eligible for a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) which functions as their primary identity document. Non-EEA nationals with valid leave to remain are also issued BRP’s. We process applications for all eligible categories. First-time applicants must attend a biometric enrollment appointment – we arrange this for you. Renewals and replacements can often be handled entirely remotely through our secure online portal.
How long does a residence permit take to process?
Standard residence permit processing varies depending on the permit type and individual circumstances. In-country applications typically take 8-12 weeks though the Home office. Our service manages your application, ensures all documentation is correct and complete, and monitors your case throughout. We offer a premium service that includes priority handling and direct communication with the home office. For urgent cases, a super priority service is available that guarantees a decision within 24 hours for an additional fee. We advise starting the application fee at least 3 months before your current leave expires.
My Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) has been lost - what do i do?
A lost or stolen BRP must be reported to the home office within 3 days of discovery. Failure to report may affect your future visa or settlement applications. You must also report the loss o the police if it was stolen. To apply for a replacement BRP, you willl need to complete an online form, pay the replacement fee, provide a police reference number (if stolen), and attend a biometric appointment if required. Your immigration status and right to work/rent remain unaffected while your replacement is being processed. We handle the entire replacement process and can obtain a temporary status document for your employer or landlord if needed.
Document Authentication & Certificates
What is an apostille and do i need one?
An apostille is an official certification that validates the authenticity of a public document for use in another country. It is issued under the 1961 Hague convention and is accepted by all 120+ member countries. You will need an apostile if you are using a UK document (such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, academic degree, or criminal records check) in a foreign country for purposes such as employment, marriage, immigration, or business registration. In the UK, apostilles are issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). We obtain apostilles directly from the FCDO on your behalf. Standard apostille processing takes 2-4 working days: our same-day service is available for urgent needs.
What is the difference between notarisation, apostile, and legislation?
These are three distinct but often sequential steps in document authentication:
- NOTARISATION – A solicitor or notary public certifies that a document is a true copy of the original, or witness a signature. This usually is the first step.
- APOSTILLE – The FCDO adds an official apostille certificate to a notarised document, confirming the notary’s authority. This is sufficient for use in the 120+ Hague convention member countries.
- LEGISLATION (Embassy Attestation) – For countries not part of the Hague Convention (e.g. UAE, Canada, Saudi Arabia). The document must also be presented to that country’s embassy in the UK for a final stamp of approval. We manage all three stages and advise on which steps are required for your specific destination country.
How do i obtain a certified copy of my birth certificate?
Certified copies of UK birth certificates are obtained from the General Register Office (GRO) IN England and Wales, or the equivalent authority in Scotland (NRS) or Northern Ireland (GRONI). A certified copy is a full official copy of the original registration entry, bearing the official seal of the register office. It is a legally valid document accepted worldwide. To apply, you will need to provide: the full name at birth, date of birth, place of birth, and parents’ names (for full certificates). Certificates are issued within 5-7 working days (standard) or 2-3 working days (priority). We handle the entire application process and can also arrange apostille certification and translation if required for international use.

Processing Times & Urgent Services
What is your fastest processing option?
Our Emergency Same-Day service is our fastest option, guaranteeing processing within 24 hours for qualifying applications. Our Emergency service includes: a dedicated case handler available available by direct phone line, priority submission, real-time status every 2 hours, and guaranteed dispatch by 5pm on the day of processing. Emergency services are always available. Additional charges apply for emergency services.
Can you guarantee a processing time?
We guarantee our service processing times (the time from receipt of your complete application to submission to the authority for those who go through the Government). However, once your application is in the hands of a government authority (DVLA, HMPO, Home Office, etc.), we cannot legally guarantee thier internal processing times as these are controlled by the government, not by us. Government authorities publish indicative processing times, and we factor these into our estimates. In the rare event that the government authority experiences significant delays beyond their published time frames, we will escalate your case on your behalf and keep you fully informed. If government delays extend beyond double the advertised processing time, you may be eligible for a partial fee waiver at our discretion.
Do you offer processing for multiple documents at once?
Yes, we offer a discounted multi-document service for clients who need more than one document processed simultaneously. For example, if you need both a passport and a driving licence replacement, we can manage both applications concurrently with a single dedicated case handler. Discounts of 10-20% apply on the service fee (not government fees) for 2 or more documents processed together. Family packages are available for households requiring multiple passport or IDs. Corporate clients processing documents for employees can access our Business Account service with volume pricing and a dedicated account manager. Contact us for a tailored multi-document quote.
